All That They Had
lunel chronica. felicia + stefano. 214 words. g.
She was a dancer; he was a bard. She was a magician; he was a sniper. She was impulsive; he would always think before taking actions. She travelled across the world; he just sat there on the luxurious sofa in his mansion. Despite all the differences, the siblings were dubbed as exotic by all the people around them.
However, was it the only thing they had in common?
Felicia became a dancer for her passion and for money. Stefano, despite having been adopted by a tycoon; at times would still pick up his guitar and play some songs. Once in a while, Felicia would visit his brother in the mansion, and they would do performances together. The younger sibling would dance, accompanied by her brother’s songs.
It was what they shared, that something called ‘bond.’ It took the form of the times they’d spent together; performing together, getting in an argument with each other, doing silly things, caring for each other, et cetera. They might search for wealth and love, but the bond would always be there, especially ever since they lost their parents. It was not something physical that could be seen, it was neither money nor girls; but it was all that they had as siblings.
At least for the time being.

(Not) Overshadowed
lunel chronica. lucan + karen. 247 words. g.
One thing that Lucan was aware of was that he would never live up to his family’s name.
Especially if he was compared to his sister.
Lucan remembered how he wasn’t able to cast a basic spell right many times, while Karen effortlessly used high-tier fire magic even more times.
Lucan could understand why she was their father’s favorite (though he would still hate his father for that and many other things, regardless.)
Lucan knew that despite all the hard work, she would always still be better.
They were complete opposites; they were fire and ice. People recognized Karen but not him. She was a prodigy and she was more loyal to the country than he would ever be, it was obvious why everyone loved (and wanted) her over him. Lucan was a loner, a mage (“Wait, could you even call yourself a mage? Hah! Don't make me laugh, boy.”) without talent, an unknown hard worker; as if he was designed to be inferior to his sister. Lunel, as a goddess, surely was unfair.
However, he didn’t want to be her, although she was the kind of perfect everyone aspired to be. He might not like the way his life going on right now, but he’d rather go it through than be a copy of the person he disliked the most (he wished he could throw away the name Rothstein, anyway; he could live without that.)
And then, came the very thing he least wanted to happen. Fate brought them to a meeting, only for Lucan to find out that Karen, his sister, the one the Rothsteins was proud of; became a member of Pris Gladami. It was kind of expected, but still.
Well, at least he was even more sure he didn’t want to be like her now.

Awkward
lunel chronica. klein + lucan. 210 words. g.
“I did not expect to meet you here,” was the first words that escaped from Klein’s mouth when he saw a figure of boy shorter than him by a few centimeters, in this very certain place, “I never saw you here before.”
“But I always go here, ever since we’ve stayed here with the others,” said Lucan, in a matter-of-fact way without making an eye contact.
“I see,” the next moment, Klein took a seat beside him. He was kind of fascinated that someone might share the same interests as him to the point that despite being the type of person who would most likely not join in a conversation, let alone started one; asked, “Lucan, do you like reading books?”
“Yes.”
“That is great,” then he took a book from one of the shelves near there. A literature. “Would you happen to be interested in this one?”
“I’m sorry, but I’m not into them.”
“I say you should at least try reading it.”
No answer. It seemed that it was useless to convince Lucan at this point, or even to continue the talk. Klein should’ve known that people like them would take almost forever to get along.
It would all end in an awkward silence, and it already did.

Need
lunel chronica. eindride-centric. 212 words. g.
There had been countless times Eindride felt lonely. The boy grew up in an environment where almost everyone else was older than him, anyway; and it didn’t help that he was a shy person. He was too scared to go out and socialize. He tried to be nice once, but it just didn’t work; people were astonished of the sudden change and he had to look down to avoid their stares.
And then when he finally became a part of Pris Gladami, he made himself aloof; turning into someone too proud to even talk to his companions. This was probably the new shape of his ‘shyness’; he just couldn’t communicate properly but he tried to cover it up. It worked on that part, but he still didn’t get that friend he’d wanted since ever.
But why?
He was confused. He did not realize what he did wrong. He blamed the others, the world, Lunel, and himself. He basically blamed everything. But he did not know what he blamed for exactly; he just thought that fate just wanted him to be like this and that everyone misunderstood him. And all of this just made it even worse.
He didn’t even know if it was him being lonely or selfish; he just didn’t care. He wanted a friend.
